Territory Proud TahneeTerritorian, Tahnee Afuhaamango has come a long way since Territory Proud first supported her fund raising in 2006 to compete in Ireland at the 2006 Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation World Swimming Championships. The Territory superfish, who has Down Syndrome, represented Australia in Portugal in 2008 at the DSISO World Swimming Championships winning 7 Gold 2 Silver and 6 World records as well as being awarded Female Champion of World Championships. A fantastic achievement. The Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation (DSISO) boasts 23 country members and holds the world championships every two years. Tahnee will once again compete for Australia in Taipei, Taiwan in October 2010 and has commenced her fundraising for the event. She has a full scholarship with the Northern Territory Institute of Sport and currently has 21 DSISO World records in the Long Course, Short Course and Masters categories. Tahneeās current medal tally is 31 Gold, 25 Silver and 23 Bronze. A Proud Territorian!! |
